Andrew Taylors Secondment to Palram - 22/03/2011
Last month, our Sales Team Manager, Andrew Taylor, left Century Plastics for a short while to work at our parent company, Palram. I have asked him a few questions to see how his time went there:
How was it different to working at Century Plastics?
Palram tend to send out much larger volumes on a daily basis than Century and to all corners of Great Britain. This I found to be the main difference. Other than that, small things such as having my own office and more travelling for myself.
Have you learnt anything from your experience there?
If anything I learnt more of the technical side of some products, such as what the dyne testing means on PVC and how making PVC thinner effects the forming of the sheet. On the whole my experience there was valuable and one that am glad I took the challenge.
How long did you spend at PalRam?
I spent a total of four weeks.
What was the job role?
My title there was Regional Sales Manager, and it was my role to help administer price increases to all major PVC customers. This included visits to all PVC customers and help with fixing issues with materials including technical queries etc. It was also my role to help find and promote new business.
What was it like fitting in?
Having known the majority of staff there anyway, fitting in was easy and all the staff there were friendly and willing to help where needed.
